I was tasked with improving fulfillment efficiency across four Amazon-style warehouses nationwide. The existing processes were slow and prone to errors, creating bottlenecks and frustration for warehouse teams at every level, from pickers to managers. The lack of streamlined workflows made it difficult to maintain consistency and accuracy at scale.
To design an effective solution, I conducted thorough user research, speaking with every warehouse employee, from frontline staff to supervisors, to uncover pain points and operational gaps. Using these insights, I created an iOS application that seamlessly integrates with SKU scanners to guide employees through each stage of the workflow, from picking to packing. The app emphasized simplicity and clarity, using color-coded statuses, real-time inventory updates, and intuitive navigation to keep tasks efficient and error-free. Minimal interaction was required, reducing friction while enabling faster task completion.
The app significantly enhanced operational efficiency and accuracy across all four warehouses. By addressing the specific needs of each employee role and eliminating unnecessary complexity, the solution led to faster fulfillment times, fewer errors, and a noticeable improvement in team satisfaction. This work laid a strong foundation for scaling EasyPost’s warehouse operations with confidence.
Purpose: This no-touch app works in tandem with a SKU scanner, optimizing workflow for warehouse staff to locate, package, and ship items hands-free. Each workflow stage advances with SKU scans, enabling efficiency and minimizing errors.
This approach ensures rapid, accurate order fulfillment, enhancing productivity and supporting a scalable, hands-free system ideal for high-volume environments.
